Gears are the most commonly found transmission ingredients. In a typical gear assembly, one plastic worm gear toothed wheel interlocks with another. Gearboxes are often used to deliver power or transform direction.

Plastic-type material gears, as the identity suggests are constructed of plastic rather than metal. Included in these are worm gears, spur gears, helical gears, pinion gears, tooth gears, bevel gears, and planetary gears. The material can be a combo of Nylon (Nylon PA6 or Nylon PA66) and POM (Polyoxymethylene).
